This is a series of short stories, each by one of these amazing black women. They all take place in the same world, NYC during a blackout. All of the characters are dealing with the same blackout…and a relationship issue.

I appreciated them all. I thought that Jackson’s story being split up and put in as installments between each of the other stories was good. I liked the way they were separate stories, but they were connected.

It was just really good. I’ve been looking for a short story collection I could really sell to students, and I think I have finally found it!
