Ms. Rachel Branch
Hi! I am originally from Saranac Lake, NY, situated in the beautiful Adirondack mountains and well known for being the "coldest spot in the nation" throughout our winter months (no wonder I can't stand being cold!). Now I live in Montpelier with my boyfriend Jimmy and our cat Duck. Students will likely hear many stories about Duck this year because he has a huge personality and is always getting himself into trouble!
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Saint Michael's College in 2007. I have been teaching at our amazing little elementary school for over ten years.
This year I am very excited to be taking on the position of Literacy Coach and Interventionist. I am Associate Level trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham and am currently working towards my Certified Level training.
I'll be using this page to share information about the science of reading, evidence-based practices, the origins and structure of our language, and much more.
It's going to be a great year!
