B.M. in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University

Mr. Steven Barba

Mr. Barba is a 1st year teacher who recently moved to Vermont from Virginia as a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. He studied Music Education while honing his skills as a tuba player. While in school, he has performed in the VCU Trombone Choir, VCU Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, VCU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Greenspring Chamber Orchestra, The VCU Peppas, and The 4 1/2 Parking Lots Tuba-Euphonium Quartet on tuba, trombone (tenor, bass, and contrabass), and euphonium. He has composed pieces for the VCU Trombone Choir, VCU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Ada and The Engine (student led play). While performing and composing, he was also part-time teaching as a marching band instructor and private instructor in Virginia.

In his free time, Mr. Barba likes to lounge around while playing video games, watching anime, or exploring the internet for new memes. He loves dogs and hopes to save up enough money to give his future corgi a great life. He's very open to trying out new things and seeing what Vermont has to offer in regards to food and activities, so recommendations are welcome!
