Mrs. Kathy Gingras

Hello everyone!  I currently teach grades 3/4 math and Science.  I received my BS in Elementary Education and Psychology from Castleton State University (1994) and my Masters of Education from University of Southern New Hampshire (2009).  I have worked with Mahesh Sharma to help develop our school district's mathematics curriculum as well as the mathematics intervention program. I am excited to start my 26th year teaching.  I live in Williamstown with my husband and son.  We have 4 furbabies, 1 dog and 3 cats.  I love taking walks on our wooded trails and just spending time with my family!

The best way to contact me is through email.  I will do my best to respond to you within the same day.

Hi 4th Graders and Families!

I am very excited to get to know and learn with all of these wonderful kiddos this year!  I will be teaching 3/4 English Language Arts and Social Studies this year!  For those of you who have not met me, here is a little bit about myself.

I graduated from UVM in 2018 with my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education.  Since then I have worked as a Preschool teacher and a reading interventionist for grades PreK through 8th.  This will be my third year teaching in the Echo Valley Community School District, but my relationship with the school and our supervisory union (CVSU) long predates that.  I graduated from Williamstown High School and immediately moved into a substitute teacher position in Williamstown and Washington schools during my breaks from college.  These experiences as a sub led to me study education in college and therefore influenced how I got to where I am today!

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time on the lake or on a mountain!  I picked up skiing this past year and have always loved hiking to beautiful views, so mountains are one of my favorite places to be for sure.  I also have been an avid kayaker for about 6 years now.  As soon as the lake is open I am there until it is too chilly (or frozen!) to paddle around.  You can also find me working in our ONWARD afterschool program as a program facilitator a couple days a week.  When I have time to rest and just chill I prefer to do so with my cat, Kitten, or my partner and his doggos!

As a teacher I really value relationships with families and our communtiy, so please never hesitate to reach out if you ever have concerns, want to be involved in the classroom, or generally want to know what is going on in school!  Please check out our bi-weely updates on what your kiddos are learning in our "News in the Classroom" tab of our website!
