• Volunteer Approval Process

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Our teachers and students appreciate the support volunteers lend to our school community. There are two levels of volunteers in CVSU with different requirements for each. Please read through the information below to assist you in completing the necessary paperwork to volunteer.

    Level I Volunteer
Volunteers provide services within the school, on school district premises or during school events, to assist within the classroom, library, main office, sporting events, theater productions and other extracurricular activities. Work may involve direct contact with children, but typically under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher or other approved school professionals.

    Level II Volunteer
Volunteers provide direct services to students that involve unsupervised contact with school age children. Example: Overnight Chaperon, Volunteer Coach/Advisor, Field Trip Chaperon.

All Level I & Level II volunteers must complete and return the following forms to the school office:

    CVSU Volunteer Application Form
Agency of Human Services Consent for Release of Registry Information

Level II volunteers must also fill out the VCIC Fingerprint Authorization Certificate and have their fingerprints taken at their local sheriff's office.
Please note that it takes 4–6 weeks for the results of the VCIC Fingerprint supported CRC to be completed.
You will not be approved for Level II volunteering until a no-recorded result is received.
Be sure to get your fingerprints completed well in advance of any school chaperon plans.

You can obtain these forms from your School's Administrative Assistant's Office or at the CVSU Central Office.

Volunteers are expected to abide by all applicable CVSU policies and procedures. Federal and State Laws and Regulations, and other administrative rules while providing services within the schools.
It is the discretion of the Superintendent to accept, deny, limit, or revoke an individual's services as a volunteer. The Superintendent's decision on these matters is considered final.
