Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Locarno

This year marks my 25th year as a teacher and my 7th year in Williamstown.  Prior to working to Williamstown, I served as the 6-8 humanities teacher in Washington, Vermont.  I have also taught in Montpelier and Windsor.  I received my bachelor's degree from Western New England University and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Castleton State University. I am very excited to start this year with the 5th grade class.

This summer has been a quiet one for me and my family.  We have visited/kayaked at local state parks and swimming holes, been swimming in our own pool, and spent time on a few different baseball fields as my son plays and my husband is his coach. Watching and playing baseball made our summer feel a bit more like normal with the effects of the Covid pandemic limiting our summer travels.

In addition, I have read a number of great books over the summer months.  I have read some of the novels for our units of study in humanities including a book titled Refugee.  This novel follows three main characters from three different periods in history as they flee their homelands in search of a better life with their families.  I will read this novel to students during our last unit of the school year.

I look forward to hearing about your summer reading and vacations when we return to school. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine during these last few days.
