Miranda Moody Miller

Miranda Moody Miller has been teaching for 17 years and has worked in a variety of school settings from traditional middle and high school classrooms and multi-age interdisciplinary classrooms to non-traditional spaces such as directing and running a summer camp and forest-based preschool program and teaching writing in a high-clearance federal correctional facility.  Ms. Miller specializes in project-based teaching and learning and is starting her sixth year at WMHS, teaching 10-12 English Language Arts and Global Studies and 9-12 Flexible Pathways. 

When she's not in the classroom she can be found in the PAL directing the WMHS Theater Club, working with the Farm to School Team, or organizing either the Boston Broadway Trip or the Young Writers' Conference.  


Her courses have included: 

ELA - Creative Writing, Survival of the Fittest, Theater and Debate, and Outcasts and Misfits;

US History - Blacks in America, Movements and Uprisings/Riots and Revolutions, When Dreams Turn to Dust, and Times of War;

Civics and Government - We the People, Be an Activist, and Columbus to the Constitution;

Cultural Geography - When East Meets West, World Religions, and Global Markets/Global Goods;

and Economics - Food and Fitness.  


When she isn't teaching, Ms. Miller can be found performing locally as a singer-songwriter, planting/harvesting/or processing food on her subsistence homestead, traveling to exotic places (near and far), walking her dogs in the woods, running and directing summer programming through The Barra School, or writing.
