I grew up in Upstate New York and went to college in Florida.  In 2002 I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida.  I taught second grade for two years before having my first child, then decided to stay at home with her and pursue my Master's degree in the evening.  In 2008 I graduated from Gulf Coast University with my Master's degree in Elementary Education. We moved from Florida to North Carolina in 2008 where I taught first grade at a spectacular little charter school for four years.  Finally, I was able to convince my family to make the move back up north where I was hired to teach sixth grade at Northfield Middle High School for a year.  I'm excited to start my eighth year at Northfield Elementary teaching 5th grade humanities, which includes reading, writing, word study, and global studies.
