Here you will find how to use Google Meet for working with your students.
Please note that last week, Google added the ability to use Classroom to create a Meet for your students. (see below)

Here are the steps for creating and inviting students to a Meet
Option 1: without using Google Calendar
- Think of a nickname you want to call your Meet. You can re-use the same one, but it has to be unique. For example, don't use math as a nick name, use donahuemathp1.
- Create an email to send to your students
- In the email, give them the correct address to go to (https://meet.google.com)
- Tell them to join a Meet by entering the nickname you created at the designated time.
- 5 minutes prior to the Meet, go there and start it using the nickname and immediately join the Meet.
- When the meeting is completed and all particiapnts have left "hungup" then you hangup and then click the return to Homescreen green button.
Option 2: using Google Calendar (please make sure that NO HANGOUT is created)
- You can use your calendar to invite students but please make sure NO HANGOUT is created
- Go to your calendar and create a new event
- As soon as you add an email address, the event will automatically create a Hangout - you MUST delete that option.
- In the description box, tell the studetns the address to go to (https://meet.google.com) and the nickname to enter.
- 5 minutes prior to the Meet, go there and start/open and join the Meet using the nickname.
- When the meeting is completed and all particiapnts have left "hungup" then you hangup and then click the return to Homescreen green button
