Dear Williamstown School Community:
I write to you today with very sad and unfortunate news. We learned earlier today that Steven Tracy, an 8th grade student at WMHS passed away unexpectedly this morning. Clearly, this is surprising and crushing for Steven’s family and my heart and sympathies go out to them for their devastating loss.
As the Williamstown Blue Devil Community is tightly knit, you very well may know Steven or his family, and be aware of his death through social media. Therefore, I want to offer information that may be important to your family as we are in the midst of trying to best support students, staff, and families during this extraordinary time.
Members of the Student Support Team will be offering drop-in times for any Williamstown Middle High School student that needs support during this difficult time. To log into a Support Meet via Google Meets, WMHS students use login code: wmhssupport The Support Team will be available today, Monday, May 18th at: 4:30p-6:00p.We will also be available by phone, 802-433-7052, during this time.

We will also be meeting for an assembly in grades 6/7 at 1:00 and grades 8-12 at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon to offer support to our WMHS students. Students can access the assembly by using the login code: wmhsassembly
We are also providing additional resources that will assist with how to discuss death with your student. This is a very trying and difficult time for everyone due to Covid-19 and our inability to offer in person support adds another degree of difficulty. Please know that we are always here, and I can personally be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to Steven’s family and friends. My thoughts are with them all at this difficult time.
